About
House sitter(s) needed 22-29 December (with the possibility of arriving on 21 December for non-locals so there is time to show you around). Small acreage less than 20 minutes from Hobart and only 7-8 minutes by car to Kingston shops.
Care for our elderly cat Gigi, four equines of various sizes, and numerous free-range birds (2 chickens and 7 Indian runner ducks) and one rabbit.
Horse experience/confidence around horses required. They are friendly, especially if you have apple in hand. A level of fitness needed suitable for food/hay delivery (dependent on grass conditions at the time).
Well appointed comfortable country home with everything you need - modern cooking facilities, heating/cooling, WIFI, smart TV. Two living/dining areas. Guest room has a double bed. Lovely big garden (some care of plants in pots will be required), and creek runs through property. Huge dam, great for bird watching. Lots of wildlife - many native birds and usually some Tasmanian Pademelons in the garden.
Good base for walks on Mt Wellington/Kunanyi, and exploring the Channel and Huon areas (20-25 min to Huonville), as well as Hobart. Ten minutes by car to Kingston Beach.
Small in ground heated swimming pool, which will hopefully be renovated and functioning later this year. Possibility of loan car if required.
Vegetarian or vegan sitter(s) preferred
