We are located on the fringe of inner north Brisbane. Close to amenities, walking distance from train station, not too noisy - suburban street, 20-25 drive from Brisbane city, close to Westfield Chermside shopping centre, close to cafes, generally sunny and warm apart from summer storms! 25 min drive to Sunshine Coast.

We are looking for someone to look after our 2 cats. There is a 4 year old boy named Winkie and 2 year old girl named Smokey. They are both inside cats. They both get along but sometimes do play fight. They are often a little scared of new people but will warm up quickly. They both likes pats and love. They can both be picked up but Winkie is more open to hugs and holding.

Our house is is 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom in a suburban street. 5 min walk to the train station at the end of our road and bus stops. Also 5 min walk from main street which has a grocery store, cafes, RSL, post office. There are multiple shopping centres within a 5-7 min drive in Aspley and Boondall. Chermside Westfield Shopping Centre is also a 5 minute.

We are happy for you to stay in the house. The cats are very clingy (we regard them as our children), they will like to sleep on the main bed or wherever you sleep and will likely follow you around the house or sit on your lap.

Both cats are fed morning and night with wet food. They have dry food and water left out all day in the kitchen. We also give them cat treats called Greenies. They are obsessed with them and they both know which cupboard we keep them in so if they meow in the kitchen that is why haha. I give both cats Greenies at night after dinner about 10 biscuits each.

There are 2 litter boxes that will need to be emptied regularly (we usually change daily). We have a little hand vacuum to clean up stray kitty litter.

The cats may try to get outside and can surprise you when you open the front door. We tend to open it slowly and then nudge them out the way. Our street can have times of heavy traffic due to living next to a train station.

The house has fully ducted air con and fans in most rooms which you are welcome to use as much as needed. We will explain how to use the air con wall tablet. The kitchen has normal amenities (kettle, microwave, cooktop, oven) plus dishwasher, air fryer, DeLonghi Automatic coffee machine and Thermomix. There is also a second fridge and freezer in the garage if you needed extra room. The main lounge room has a tv as does the main bedroom. Internet and streaming services are available (Netflix, Apple TV, Stan, Disney, Prime, Binge).

There is a separate laundry room with a washing machine, sink and cleaning supplies. We don't own a dryer due to the very hot climate in Brisbane. We do have many clothes racks on the back patio and a clothesline you are welcome to use. There is a robot vacuum and a stick vacuum as well if you need to use it.

We are looking to do handover on 24th December 2025. We are both working in the morning but should be available early afternoon before our flight. We will feed the cats before we leave on 24th Dec but are happy for you to stay on 24 Dec or alternatively arrive on 25 Dec morning. Cats like to be fed around 6.30-7am.

We are looking for cat-obsessed people (just like us) who will treat our cats with utmost care, respect and love. Just an extra - if not too much we would love you to send us photos of our cats during your stay. We love them very much and will miss them dearly.

Pets & farm animals

2 cats, medium/large black long haired boy (Winkie) and grey and medium grey and black medium haired girl (Smokey).

Cats require feeding, 1 packet of wet food each morning and night. Breakfast approx 6.30-7am and Dinner approx 6pm. Dry biscuits and water are left out all day and replenished as needed.

Cats are indoor only. They have 2 litter trays which require regular emptying. We will provide bags of litter, garbage bags, disinfectant wipes and room sprays. There is also a hand held vacuum for stray litter.

Cats are shy at first but easily warm up. Both can be very clingy, looking for people who love cats and happy for cats to sleep with them on the bed at night. Cats may also follow you around the house and sit on your lap.

If you are happy to give the lawn a mow that would be fantastic. Not mandatory. Lawnmower supplied.
