A rural and relaxed house sit to enjoy the Upper Hunter over Autumn/Winter.

We are seeking experienced sitters (couples preferred) to care for our home and 7 dogs (5 retired & 2 current show dogs) who are all beautifully behaved and very well trained. We also have 6 sheep, who look after themselves, apart from topping up their water each week. Experience with caring for a small rural 'lifestyle' property is an advantage.

Scone, in the Upper Hunter Valley, is the Horse Capital of Australia and offers lots to see and do locally.

We have a large house on 5 acres. Our property offers you a quiet and peaceful, rural setting with views of the mountains and horse studs. There is plenty of room for a caravan or motorhome or accommodation is available in the house.

We are located within easy access by car to the Hunter Valley, Pokolbin & local wineries, Barrington Tops, Tamworth and Newcastle. Lots to see and explore locally, especially over the Autumn/Winter months..

*Note: We are approx. 5 km from town with no public transport, so OWN transport is ESSENTIAL.

Duties would include daily care and feeding of our dogs, mowing and watering gardens as needed. Our dogs, are in well-established routines, giving you the freedom to explore the area during the days. No need to walk or provide additional exercise beyond the backyard. No experience with or additional grooming of the dogs is required.

Pets & farm animals

3 Siberian huskies and 4 Cavalier King Charles Spaniels (ranging from 14 to 2 years of age).
Daily care and feeding of all dogs.
Cavaliers - Weekly bath and brushing of coats. Professional groomer will be engaged to assist with the 2 current show dogs.
Siberians - They will be washed and groomed before leaving so no baths or brushing needed for this sit.

6 sheep which look after themselves, apart from topping up their water once a week.

House Tasks

General care of house & collect mail.
Mow house and yard lawns & water pots and gardens as needed (weather dependent).
