About
Come and enjoy our beautiful three bedroom, two bathroom home at the base of the Dandenong Ranges (and right near the entry to the Yarra Valley) available for ten nights from the 17th July, 2026.
With a bus stop outside our house that can help you access the train station (which is ten mins away and can either take you into the City or out to Lilydale), shopping centres, up the mountain to visit one of the kitschy little towns, or into the Valley to wine country. A ten minute walk to Montrose shops (where there is an IGA supermarket, bottlo, bakery, cafe's, newsagents, post office, pet shop, Charcoal chicken or Thai food).
The catch - you need to take care of two exceptionally loved, very quirky miniature dachshunds!
The eldest (Sooty) is 17 in June, and after an injury early last year, is unable to use the dog door anymore. She is vision impaired, and hearing impaired, but gets around just fine within the areas that we have separated for her in the home (which include the main loungeroom/kitchen area). We carry her outside every few hours to the area just off the deck to use the loo, and she is pretty great at hanging on if you're out for the day (although overnight she uses the pee pads).
Our second girl Skye is a rescue and is so friendly and cuddly, and once she knows you, you will fight over who gets to snuggle with her! She uses the dog door to get out to use the bathroom, and is separated at night in the kitchen so she can access the yard.
Since our eldest injured her back, we dont take them on walks anymore, so the main work you'll do with them is giving them love, feeding them, and a little cleaning up after Sooty in the mornings.
We would love anyone with a love of animals - but in particular elderly animals to apply. We would prefer you to agree to a police check once approved.
This is a great opportunity to stay in a sought after area with access to beautiful tourist attractions.
Our home is your home!
