I'm traveling to visit family and looking for someone to care for my kitty and flat.

I live in a spacious, bright one-bedroom flat in Richmond. The flat is towards the back of a friendly and safe condo complex. I'm on the ground floor and have a small private courtyard. The owner recently installed effective air conditioning and heating.

I live on a quiet street within walking distance of the liveliness of Bridge Road and Swan Street (cafes, pubs, galleries, exercise studios, etc). The back of the complex faces a lovely green pathway that leads to the Yarra Trail. On the corner, you can catch trams to the CBD, and the flat is a short walk (about 10 minutes) from the Burnley and Hawthorn train stations. You can easily walk to Hawthorn.

The main reason I need a flat sitter is to take care of Mr Libertine, my little ginger cat. Mr Libertine loves to cuddle and play. He is about 6 years old and has a lot of energy. One of his favourite games it to tackle toys with a somersault! He is also very vocal.

Mr Libertine has one bad kidney, so he is on a special diet. He is not on any medication.

I would like to find someone who has experience with cats or other domestic animals and would be able to recognize signs that he wasn't feeling well and needed medical attention (eg, appetite change, excessive thirst, lethargy, inordinately smelly urine, etc). I don't expect him to become ill: he has been well on my other long trips and in good health (with normal blood tests) since he was diagnosed and began his kidney diet. However, I still want someone vigilant to look after him, as feline kidney issues can be unpredictable.

House Tasks

The main task is to care for Mr Libertine. I would also like you to bring the mail inside regularly (it does not have to be daily). Otherwise the snails eat it.

There is no lawn care, but you may need to water the trees in the courtyard if it is very hot and dry.
