About
We need one, preferably a couple of house sitters who can keep the house looking occupied, eg. put out bins, minimum watering. The main task is keeping our beautiful 9 year old (but still energetic and very affectionate) Border collie happy, fed, medicated if there is a thunderstorm, also put in her thunderstorm vest if needed. She needs a 20 - 30 minute walk daily and otherwise likes to entertain her people with various circus tricks. She likes to supervise the local possums, however, does need to be kept indoor between 9.30?p.m. and 8.00 a.m. so she does not drive the neighbours batty.
Pets & farm animals
Gardening is certainly an option if you are keen, otherwise just basic maintenance. It has been very dry here so there may be a few plants which need watering. We would ideally like the sitter/s to come the day before we leave since we fly out early on the 24th, and get a run through of the garden, tv, heaters, learn about the dog and get her to know them. Bird or fish or similar would be fine - another dog may work or not, so perhaps don't risk it. She has a tendency to round up cats, but if your cat is a cool dude, as ours was, it could come. We have a large cat enclosure - I wouldn't recommend it venturing outside since we have aggressive neighbouring cats and much wildlife.
House Tasks
Watering plants in pots around the house, lemon tree, olive tree and camellia if there is no rain. Many things are on automatic self watering. Remove dog droppings from back lawn half way through stay, if possible. Bins. Mail put on kitchen counter.
