** I'm seeking a house sitter for these dates because I plan to be travelling interstate for work. Please note the possibility that if border restrictions are reinstated, my trip will not go ahead. Hopefully everything will be fine! **
The unit is on the second floor of a building, through a secure entry which services six apartments. There is no lift (it's not accessible for people who use wheelchairs or mobility aids).
It's an apartment with 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom. The spare bedroom is available for housesitter's use.
The apartment is 5 mins' walk to the 57 tram, 10 mins' walk to Kensington train station (Craigieburn line), 12 mins' walk to Macaulay train station (Upfield line). It's 10 mins' walk to Kensington Village on Macaulay Road, and also Racecourse Road, both of which have a fantastic range of restaurants, food shops/supermarkets, pubs and wine bars.
Pets & farm animals
The two cats, Omar and Butchie, are 8 years old. They live fully indoors. They're very cuddly and gentle, their favourite thing is to snooze on a warm lap on the couch. They're a little shy at first with new people, but they warm up when they get to know you.
Both cats are used to being fed frequently while I work from home. They are on separate diets so it's necessary to monitor that they're not eating each other's food.
Omar, the larger male cat, has kidney disease, so he is on a special renal diet and needs medication (one tablet, twice daily). Because of his impaired kidney function he needs to drink a lot of water, it's important that the water bowls and drinking fountains are kept clean and topped up with fresh water. It's also important that he's encouraged to eat as much as he can, to avoid muscle wasting.
Butchie, the smaller female, is easy to take care of and has no special needs.
