I have a lovely small house in the rain forest in Tamborine Mountain (about 25 minutes drive to the beach - Gold Coast and one hour to Brisbane CBD). My house is in a quiet cul-de-sac, very cozy, comfortable, easy to clean, with all needed amenities.I have 2 adorable and easy to please cats, Thomas and Princess (whom I treat as my children), and therefore would only consider a person who loves cats.My house has a big veranda facing into the rain forest, with lots of wild- and bird life, i.e. a variety of parrots that come for a seed feed every morning and kookaburras and possums for their feeds at night. Many walking trails, restaurants and things to do on the Mountain. An amazing place to rest and become part of nature, but also to have fun activities on the mountain and close by.I do not put my two cats in a cattery, because they love their home and will most likely be very unhappy not being in their own surroundings. I will appreciate a person (or 2 people max) to look after my home and my two cat children with love and care when i am on holidays from Friday 24 September, returning home Sunday afternoon 10 October 2021.
Pets & farm animals
My cats live in the house (day and night) and use the big back veranda during the day. Thus they do not go down to the garden (we have a tick problem on the mountain during summer that can be fatal for animals). I use two litter trays that gets cleaned every day with a scoop. The trays get cleaned and filled with fresh 'clumping sand' once a week. Furthermore their bowls of water and biscuits/pellets have to be cleaned and filled up every second day and they get a treat every day (all will be stocked up in the laundry - in the cat area). The cats will be shaved, because of being summer time, thus grooming is minimal. Thomas's eyes (my Persian cat) need to be cleaned every second day that takes about 2 to 3 minutes (with a soft warm cloth or cotton wool and saline water - this will also be provided). He is an easy lovable cat and takes this in his stride. These two cats have amazing and unique personalities and are only a joy to be around.
House Tasks
Furthermore the house should be kept clean. It will be handed over in a clean and neat state and I expect to get it back in this condition. Mail can be collected from the street mailbox and kept in a safe place till I return from holidays. The garden has a sprinkler system and this can be turned on manually to run for 2 hours at a time once a week, depending how much it rains. There are 8 pots with herbs on the veranda that needs to be watered once a week. These herbs can be used as well as the many herbs in the front garden for salads and cooking. The tasks will be minimum for the house sitters and therefore there will be lots of time to explore Tamborine Mountain and surrounding areas. Most important is that my cats are well looked after and receive a lot of attention and love.
