My husband and I are heading to NSW for Christmas and are looking for a house sitter to care for our home and look after our 3 indoor cats during this time.
We live in a beautiful green and leafy suburb called Macleod in Melbourne. Its 20km from the city, 10-15 minute walk to public transport and two cute shopping villages with cafes, supermarkets and restaurants (Macleod and Watsonia).
Macleod is in Melbourne’s north and in a great location for day trips to walking tracks (plenty gorge). It’s also only 15-20 minutes to great restaurants and bars in Northcote, Thornbury and Preston.

A little about us and our home -
We are an early 30’s professional couple. We love animals, camping, being outdoors and can’t pass up a cheese platter and wine. I’m a project coordinator working in the rail industry (Viv) and my husband Cam is a business analyst at Movember.
We live in a 3 bedroom weatherboard home (2 are bedrooms and 1 is a study). We have a lovely front and back garden (on approx 500sqm of land). Our backyard has a big picnic table, fire pit and bbq which is great for a summers night when you want to eat outside.

A bit about our cats! -
We have 2 beautiful ginger tabby cats and 1 British shorthair.
Nibbs - 6 year old ginger tabby - loves to play with lazer toys and anything on a string. You can find me laying in the sun on mum and dads bed during the day.
Thea - 3 year old ginger tabby- a bit timid at first but loves to cuddle with humans and eat all of the cat food. You can find me on the spare bed watching mum while she works or cuddling up by mum and dads heads at night. We generally leave the bedroom door open for the cats, but this is up to you
Tiny - 2 year old British short hair mix - loves making cute meowing and talking sounds, also loves food like Thea. You can find me cuddled up on someone’s lap on the couch

What we expect while you’re staying in our home-
- experience looking after multiple cats
- play with the cats for 15-20 mins morning and night
- feed the cats morning and night (unfortunately they like to be fed early at 5am most days)
- clean the litter trays of poo during the day and replace when getting dirty
- water the garden (front and back) every 2-3 days
- keep the house locked and secure when you aren’t there
- pay a bond of $500 prior to staying with us (this is negotiable). This will be returned when you hand back the keys. We don’t anticipate having to charge this and won’t apply it to general wear and tear eg breaking a glass. This is to cover any property damage eg hole in a wall
