Our solid brick Edwardian home is in Coburg/Brunswick. It is close to 3 forms of public transport and there is space for off street parking for one car. There are two designated bedrooms, a large front sitting room, study, separate lounge and kitchen/dining area. There are two bathrooms - our ensuite (which we keep for our use ) and the guest bathroom with a shower & toilet. The kitchen has gas facilities and a duo dishwasher.
The house has a zoned heating & cooling air conditioning system and newly renovated wooden floors in the front section.
There are lawns and gardens at the front and back, as well as a vegetable garden. There is a water tank in the backyard as well as a BBQ and outdoor dining.
There is internet access if required.

Your responsibilities:
Dog - ensure that our dog is fed correctly and walked twice a day and groomed when required.
Garden - to maintain & water the garden, mow the lawns and front nature strip. As this will be over winter & early spring, not much watering will be required.
Mail - to collect mail, sort & inform us of any bills (should be few as I receive most via email); dispose of junk mail
Gas & electricity - I will pay the electricity and gas bills over this period. Even though we have solar panels, do watch the heating use and ensure you zone the heater.
Telephone - to pay for telephone calls
Rubbish - to ensure that rubbish bins are placed on the kerbside, to be emptied regularly
Cleaning - to vacuum carpets, sweep wooden floors & clean hard floor surfaces regularly; dust surfaces regularly
Cars - one car will have the battery removed and the other will be on a trickle charge so they should not need any attention.
We would prefer a couple or single person, with no pet.
Someone who really loves to garden and is at home some of the time to tend to our pet would be our ideal sitter. This would be added security for the home.
References are essential as is a police check.
NB We will start interviewing prospective sitters soon.

Pets & farm animals

Juno, is an active 10 year old Black & White Cocker Spaniel. She loves a walk twice a day and lives inside and outside the home, but not on the furniture. Because her coat is kept in show type condition, it takes a little combing & brushing every couple of days. I have all required grooming equipment (including grooming table) but have also organised for her (and paid for) a full groom 3 weeks into the sit at a local dog grooming salon. This should keep her coat in good condition. She loves company and a play with her toys so someone who is around a bit each day would be our preferred sitter. As both our cars will be unable to be driven, I will need someone who can drive Juno in their own car to the dog grooming appointment and who doesn’t mind a dog in their car on this occasion.

House Tasks

The main tasks are to look after our dog and our house; to keep the house clean & in good order and to mow the lawns and keep the plants watered and weeded. As it will be over winter & early spring, there should not be a lot to do in the garden.
