We are going away mid-year for six weeks and are seeking a doggy-loving person (couple, family) to stay with our short-hair Border Collie “Bobby” and look after our lovely, comfortable house while we are away.

We live in Kingsford (right on the Randwick border) directly next to the upper-campus of UNSW in a nice, big comfy semi with secure yard front and rear. The house is VERY close to tram networks leading to the Surry Hills, the CBD and Circular Quay etc. The garden has an automatic watering system hence requires very little work (possibly some mowing). It has three bedrooms (two are kids rooms) and a large upstairs master bedroom with balcony and ensuite.

Bobby will be 18-months old then, being a working dog breed he is a very active little chap and would need a good run around in the dog park at least once a day to be truly happy. He is also good staying at home by himself for a few hours (has been alone for up to 5-6 hours with no problems). However, he is used to company most days during the day at present where he is happy playing, training or snoozing.

Bobby has a lovely friendly and lively nature, he can get excited playing in the park and herding other dogs or chasing them when they chase their ball, but he is never aggressive towards other dogs or towards people of all sizes. He responds well to healthy treats and lots of praise.

What we are hoping for:
Someone who would really enjoy having fun with and taking care of Bobby and enjoy Sydney for six weeks. Maybe you want to try out the idea of having a dog. Ideally we want someone who is not going to be away from home all day.
