If you are interested in doing this long petsit please contact us.Cowes is a beautiful area with calm beaches in walking distance. It is situated on Phillip Island which has heaps of natural attractions and well-serviced by supermarkets and other shops. Our modern 3 bedroom home is very close to the golf course. Everything is fresh and new - floorboards/rugs in living areas and carpets in bedrooms. It has a very private aspect with native garden. There is undercover decking at the back of the house. This is a very quiet, peaceful neighbourhood with walking trails around the lake.We have 2 pet residents: 1 dog & 1 cat. Teddy, the dog, is an 8 year old poodle x, a rescue dog who is nervous but very loving once he accepts you. Maisie the 10 year old cat is friendly, sassy and little trouble; she will have to be inside at night. Teddy will sleep on the sofa or a (your) bed. Tracy & Michelle, the pet groomers, will groom Teddy while we are away. They arrive in a mobile unit and groom Teddy onsite. There is nothing to do except check the letterbox, mow small grassed areas in front and back (1 - 2 mows would be all), and walk the dog - morning and/or early evening.We also have 2 chooks - Ginger & Cassie - these girls are retired (not laying). They live in a fully enclosed, very large pen. Because the Island is fox-free, the girls go to and from their night roost independently. This is an excellent property with easy to mind pets in a secure setting. Our petsitters will need to be in residence for the duration of the petsit. Teddy will stay inside when you leave the house; Maisie is happy outside during the day but must be inside at night - local Shire law.This is a long house/petsit and it's possible you may have unexpected travel for personal or work commitments. For this reason, we prefer a couple to respond to this advertisement to ensure continuity. However if you are single and think you would like to do this, then tell us why. Pets & farm animals
Teddy is a white poodle cross and will stay inside most of the time. He is a Rescue Dog and has been with me since May 2015. Teddy was particularly badly-treated and is still timid. He loves walks around the estate. He walks on a lead well. Maisie the cat is a small tortoiseshell and loves sitting on laps at night while you watch TV. She explores during the day We ask for the sitter to be in residence - these animals cannot be left alone overnight. Our 2 chooks have a coop which will need cleaning daily; top up food and water containers as needed. They have a large fenced off area to scratch and explore and they also love being let into the back grassy area for a couple of hours each day. The island is foxfree so no need to lock them in at night. They take themselves to bed.
House Tasks
Daily - Check the mailbox; walk Teddy at least once daily; feed the animals & chooks. Keep the house clean - and enjoy the Island attractions. Grass will need mowing 1 - 2 times; garden has native plants,
