Nestled in the Adelaide Hills, Little Fat Hen Farm is home to our busy family of five and a rowdy crowd of alpacas, sheep, three fish, several chickens and a large ginger cat! Located a short drive from the townships of Mount Barker and Nairne, our farm is a haven for local wildlife and bird life. We are on 20 acres of bush land, with the local creek flowing through it, making it a bush walker’s delight!House sitting for us will be fairly simple. Chickens, indoor fish and cat require regular feeding, while the large animals will be fairly self-sufficient and may only require moving from one paddock to another. Indoor pot plants will require watering as well as some outdoors. If you’re into veggie gardening, the patch will be at your disposal! There is also a large orchard on the property which may require mowing, but not much else!
Pets & farm animals
Cat, indoor fish and chickens require regular feeding. (Chook grain will be supplied) Alpacas and sheep self-sufficient. They will only require moving to another paddock if they’ve grazed out where they are. Moving them is a simple task as we’ve trained them over the years to come to a call.
House Tasks
Occasional mowing of lawn as necessary. (Ride on mower on site) optional use of veggie patch also available. Regular watering of pot plants and lawn (if necessary)
