Hi there!

We are a small family in Maribyrnong requiring a pet and house sitter over the Christmas period so we can go to Canada to see family. We've got one dog, Kokomi (Komo, Komi, Koko, whatever rolls off the tongue) who is a mixed breed working dog, and one cat, Marvellous Chester.

The House:
We have a large house with space to roam! There is a living area in the front of the house along with the main bedroom and our 1 year olds bedroom. Further through the house is the spare bedroom that gets the morning sun. We then have an open plan kitchen/dining, and the main loungeroom is a mezzanine that sits above the dining. We've got a dishwasher and washing machine which we're extremely happy for you to use.
Bathroom has a seperate shower and bathtub to enjoy a nice soak. The house also has a decent backyard. The house is not new, and is not of immaculate condition. So please be mindful that it is a house with character. While it's always clean and tidy, it has its flaws.

The Area:
We live in a quiet neighbourhood with a tram and bus a 2-minute walk away. One direction will take you to Highpoint Shopping Centre which is a huge mall with everything you could possibly need plus a lot of entertainment. If you catch transport in the other direction, it will take you to Footscray Station which will take you to the city via train (7 mins). Footscray is one of our favourite areas. There are also grocery shops down there, but amazing restaurants and authentic Vietnamese and Ethiopian eateries. Definitely worth a visit!

The Pets:
Kokomi needs a walk most days, on days she doesn't get walked she will need 20-30 minutes to throw a tennis ball out the back. There are walking tracks along the Maribyrnong river close which she will walk for hours if you let her. She is a people pleaser and lives to be by your side, so will need someone at home with her most of the time during both day and night. She is absolutely okay if we're out for a few hours but stresses if she's alone for too long. Kokomi loves humans but does not like other dogs, so she is not allowed off leash during walks.
Chester has very minimal needs and generally just likes to be outside on the back porch in the sun for the entire day. He is old and enjoys cuddling up.
