Looking for an experienced house/dog sitter to look after x2 mid-sized dogs over the Christmas period.
I have a two-bedroom Victorian cottage centrally located in Collingwood close to public transport (the 86 tram line on Smith Street is a 5-10 minute walk, and the Victoria Park train station is a 5 minute walk),
grocery stores, cafes and bars/restaurants of the neighbourhood.
The house/space is low maintenance with small and fully secured paved courtyard out the back. We have fast internet, a fully functional kitchen, washer/dryer, dining area (both inside and out), living room, main bedroom with a queen size bed and second bedroom. Would suit singles and couples best.
Pets & farm animals
Dog #1 - Loaf
Loaf is a four year old gentle natured and low maintenance Whippet (23kgs). He loves human company but is also fine being left alone if fed and walked. Loaf is extremely affectionate, playful, friendly and social, and can be taken to cafes/pubs/parks etc. He is generally fine with other dogs, however can get intimidated by bigger dogs (especially on lead) and can get territorial with another dog if there is food involved (ie, at the pub if you are eating a meal, picnicking in the park etc) which is something to be mindful of. He requires to be fed twice a day (morning and night) and is typically fed around 7-7:30AM for breakfast and 6-6:30PM for dinner. He loves to run off leash at secured dog parks and has great recall (with treats!) however is also fine with both short and long walks as his daily exercise.
Dog #2 - Edith (Edie)
Edie is 2 year old female Whippet/Stag cross (21kg) who is a shy but very friendly girl. She is low maintenance, quiet, affectionate, playful. She can be taken to pubs, shops, cafes without any hassle, she is just a little shy so will keep to herself. She can be bouncy on lead at times during walks, so would suit someone who has experience with medium sized dogs. Best not to let her off lead as her recall isn’t fantastic. She has regular pet sitters and is used to staying with them and around new people, she just takes a meeting or two to get used to a new person and fully trust them. She eats two meals a day and is not fussy on timing. She is great in the car and can be taken on trips (short and long). She is fine for long walks but also is fine with a couple of short laps so will suit all energy levels.
Loaf and Edie do not currently live in the same house however spend most weekends together in the same space (at either my house or my partner's apartment) and have a very sweet sibling-like relationship. They can entertain themselves by playing with toys and each other.
