We own a 5-bedroom home in Bateau Bay on the Central Coast, NSW. We are a 5-minute drive from Bateau Bay Beach and Shelly Beach (10–15 minutes walking distance). Our place is a short 20-minute drive from Terrigal Beach. Sydney, Newcastle and the Hunter can be done as day trips, as they are each about an hour to an hour and a half drive up the freeway. Its a beautiful part of the world to live in and visit, with many natural wonders scattered about that are very accessible—awesome for the kids!We have a dog, Slick, who is a mixed breed and about 8 years old. He loves to go for walks along the beach and be with people, but must be kept on the lookout when leaving the home. We have a large block of land; however, it's mostly grass and requires little maintenance.
Pets & farm animals
We have a dog named Slick. He's about 9 years old and is a mixed-breed rescue that we've had since he was a puppy. He's a happy boy but can sometimes be mildly territorial when out and about and should be kept on the lead while on walks. We have three boys who have grown up with Slick, so he is able to manage himself around children. We tend to let him roam the downstairs portion of the home, as he has access to the outside through a dog door. Both my husband and I work full time, so we find this arrangement keeps him from being bored in the backyard during the day. Slick is able to left home during the days while the family is out and about, however, he cannot be left over night. He recently lost his furbuddy and has started having some anxiety at night if no one is in the house.
House Tasks
We only ask that the home be kept clean, the slick be cared for and taken for walks a few times per week, and the grass be mowed.
