About
Hi my name is Laura and I have a lovely young Cavoodle called Bonnie. We live in a cute little cottage about 10 minutes from the famous historic town of Childers and half an hour from Bundaberg. We are 40 minutes from beautiful Woodgate Beach and about 60 minutes from beachside Hervey Bay / historic Maryborough. It is a great base to explore the Wide Bay area.
Childers is a lovely historic town with some great cafes and interesting shops. It has everything you need including a swimming pool, a bowls club and a golf course. There are some lovely boutique shops, a some great cafes, takeaway options, a couple of great butchers, a Woolworths and an IGA. There are several pubs serving up great food and live music - Apple Tree Creek Hotel is a fave on a Sunday lunchtime.. For modern Cinemas, big shopping malls and major supermarkets you'll need to go to Bundaberg or Hervey Bay.
I am going to be away a few times in 2024, 2025 and 2026 (dates yet to be finalised), but usually 4 weeks over Christmas; 3 weeks over Easter and 3 weeks in May). Sometimes I will take Bonnie with me, but sometimes I can't, and I would love a friendly, capable Housesitter or couple, to look after the house and sometimes Bonnie as well.
Bonnie is a bit of a sloth and will snooze the whole day on the lounge if you let her, but she also enjoys daily walkies. You don't have to be particularly active. She is used to going to cafes - she loves her treats and pats too! She's a very sweet girl - she only turned 1 in October 2023, so still quite a puppy but she's fully house trained and knows quite a lot of commands. She's a bit goofy when it comes to other dogs - she gets all over excited at first but will settle. I'm more than happy for you to bring your own friendly small-medium sized dog(s) - my block is fully fenced, but the fences are only suited to small/medium sized dogs..
I have a half acre block but I engage a mowing service to take care of it, so you don't have to. I do have a few pot plants and a couple of small flower beds to keep watered. There is plenty of room for your caravan if you bring one.
You are welcome to make yourself at home - the cottage has aircon in the main bedroom and fans elsewhere. I have a heater in the lounge room for that one week a year when you need it! You can choose to sleep in your own van or inside the house. You might like to enjoy a wine on our large covered back verandah, watching the sunset? I have unlimited wifi via NBN, so you can stream TV shows or movies with no problem.
I used to do Housesitting when I lived in Victoria, but now it's my turn to need one! Hope to hear from you.
Thanks,
Laura

Bonnie, my Cavoodle. She will want to sleep on your bed but if you put her in her crate she'll be fine too. A daily walk would be nice. She gets 2 meals a day - she gets cooked mince, veggies & rice which I will provide. If you could clean around her eyes every few days that would be appreciated.
