Wanted: Reliable, caring sitter for two older female pugs at a cute and cosy unit in Maylands with a sunny garden courtyard. Must love dogs, be okay with getting hair on clothes (they shed a lot-it's a pug thing), and be alright with the pugs sleeping on the bed with you, as that's what they're used to. Pugs are companion dogs and will want to follow you everywhere. They are little clowns and love to interact and be cuddled. They don't handle being isolated from humans well, so ideally we need someone who will be out of the house no more than 4 hours per day. The pugs are indoor dogs. They cannot sleep outside or go out into the garden without human supervision as they are anaphylactic to bees. We need someone who can be calm and act fast if they need vet attention. Having your own car is essential. We have only had 1 bee sting ever but you never know... They are really low maintenance and chill most of the time. They spend about 16 hours a day asleep, and the rest figuring out how to get food- be aware, they are greedy little pigs who will try anything to steal your snacks before you can eat them. Mealtimes can be tricky as they will bark and try to harass you for food. It is the only time they behave badly. We also have a courtyard garden that will need to be watered fully every couple of days by the sitter using hosepipe (no retic).Besides the above all we want is someone we can count on. Someone who will look after our home and leave it tidy, and treat our pets kindly. We don't have children so our pugs are like our babies. They are allowed on the couch (with cover on), they go for short walks around the block every other day, and they are fed the best, grain-free dog food due to their allergies. We need someone who will be okay with two very cute, older dogs who can be a bit clingy or needy at times- that's their nature. Their happiest spot is on the couch right next to you fast asleep for hours.
House Tasks
1. Love the pugs. Keep them safe, please don't let them wander outside the property unless on a planned walk. 2. Let them sit next to you on the couch and they will sleep for hours. Feed them some treats. Talk to them a bit. All they want is human attention. 3.Let them sleep on the bed with you, its all they've ever known at night. 4. Make sure they have the right amount of food and fresh water daily. 5.If they get sick, take them to the vet a few streets away. 6. Do not leave any human food lying around as they will take it and could get sick- has happened to us so many times we have lost count ?? 7. Take pugs for short 15 minutes walk around the block every 2 days. They don't need long walks. 8.Water front and back garden every 2 days unless raining. 9. In winter sometimes the pugs try to avoid going outside to toilet due to the cold and rain, you will need to be patient with them and take them out regularly in between rainy times. They have been known to try to secretly pee in the house on stormy days to avoid the cold outdoors- we always tell them off but they still do it sometimes. You will need to monitor for signs they want to go toilet and take them outside. 10. Please clean toilet/ shower /dishes/ kitchen and lounge surfaces the day you leave our home, and leave our home as you find it (tidy). Please note: Except the sitter, outside visitors are not welcome in our home for security reasons. People bringing children or their own pets are not suitable for this sitting arrangement.
