About

We are looking for an experienced house and dog sitter to look after our 8-year-old labrador, Jack, in the inner northern suburbs of Melbourne. Walking distance to tram and train, supermarket, restaurants, bars, etc.

We live in an old California bungalow, with more recently renovated features (kitchen/bathroom), central heating/cooling, beautiful backyard, and separate office space to work from home. There is one bedroom available (double bed), and laundry with washer and dryer.

Pets & farm animals

Our labrador, Jack, is 8 years old and loves snuggles, someone to watch him sleep while you watch tv, keep you company while you work (by sleeping underneath you) and take him for a walk each morning and sometimes a short blockie in the afternoon. <br />Jack was adopted at age 4 and we think he had a hard life before living with us. He was never socialised properly as a pup, so often doesn't know what to do with cats (other than bark and jump up and down), or with other dogs that aren't his friends. He was attacked about 1 year ago, so is now suspicious of other big dogs again. Despite his challenging early start and social life with other dogs, he loves us very much, and is always looking for a snuggle. <br />He is used to someone being at home most days but is fine to be left to himself during the day. He has his own bed and does not get invited onto the couch or bed - he sheds hair as all labs do - and is an inside dog.

House Tasks

To keep the house tidy and enjoy. We will provide information about rubbish collections, use of appliances, etc. Clean up after Jack.
