Hi there potential sitter/s We live in a 3bd 2 storey townhouse in quiet cul de sac in Laverton. Its a seven minute walk to the train station (25ish minutes travel time to southern Cross on an express service). Full disclosure; Laverton isn't a thriving social hub but it does have excellent Thai, Pizza and Malaysian take away, an amazing free range butcher, Indian sweet shop(s) and the nice McCormack park with the creek running through that has a surprising amount of varied birdlife. You'll have access to good internet and a big desk in the living area if you WFH. We can provide a dual monitor set up if required. There are also another 2 spots for setting up workstations if needed (desk in study and dining table). Brand new posturepedic double mattress has just been ordered for the East facing spare room in preparation for sitter/s and there's a bathroom with an oversized shower and a bath. Espresso machine in the kitchen for you to use and secure roller shutters on the front of the house. Looking for sitter/s 14-31st Jan 2025 to look after 1x 4yo male Husky and quite the collection of house plants. We also have a large pet snake who will need her water topped up but will NOT require any feeding while we're away. If putting your hand in the snake tank briefly to top up her water is a deal-breaker we can get family/friends to look after her by dropping by as required at a time that suits you. She's in a double- locked enclosure and won't need to be handled and won't escape.Kenobi aka Boof Head is a 35kg Husky rescue who has some hilarious and mischievous traits. He's a snuggler and a thief but not destructive. He will dig a dirt hole in the garden bed to sit in but not try to escape with digging or jumping fences. He gets a 45 minute walk or enclosed dog park play a day but this will be likely much less in summer as he'll be a hot-dog. He spends the rest of the day sleeping or 'helping' you in the kitchen in case you drop something. You will have to share the couch with him and he may try to stealth into bed with you overnight. Expect to be finding dog fur in your belongings/on your clothes for many weeks after you've finished up with us! If you've never had to deal with Husky fur before you're in for a treat. He will let you know he wants some thing with 'ahhwoos' . If you're home between 3-4pm and appear to be doing nothing he will, like clockwork, bring you a toy for playtime. He will require a stern hand on the lead because if there's anything strange to sniff or to eat or to roll in he will find it while you're blinking/checking your phone. He does pull for the first 10 or so minutes but then settles, when we get to the park his lead is extended and he chooses the sniffs to follow. He really is a good boy but having 3 owners in four years means he's got zero recall and we're doing a lot of work with the trainer. He gets so excited to go for a walk that he gets the zoomies before he's even got the lead on. He cannot be walked off lead unless it's a fully enclosed dog park where he loves everyone and everything - special skill is stealing other dog's balls. After dinner (only one meal a day) he'll curl up and you won't hear a peep from him until morning as he has access through the dog door. We are more than aware our little cosy menagerie is niche and won't be for everyone. We booked this holiday many, many months ago and weren't interning to adopt a dog until we came home but we couldn't say no when we found out Boof head desperately needed a home....and now we're on here trying to find a sitter. We do have the option of family/friends to look after him at their homes but due to the amount of homes he's lived in we're trying to give him some stability and trying to find a sitter as a first option.I'm sure there's someone out there who's up for a bit of a different house/dog/plant sit. Hoping to hear from you for a potential meet and greet.
