About

Innes Park is on the coast, 15km east of Bundaberg, a few kilometres south of Bargara.
Our comfortable home is 5 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and modern kitchen with a drive in garage. It has fans and is fully air conditioned with a large north facing patio. It is a 5-minute walk from the beach at Innes Park Reserve, and a short drive from the many local beaches. Our home is low-maintenance but we would appreciate the veggie beds and certain parts of the garden being watered. Sitters are welcome to use our paddleboard (we carry it easily to the beach). We have bicycles for use along the extensive coastal walking paths. The main thing we’re seeking is a reliable couple who can look after our two Tenterfield Terriers whilst we’re overseas for our eldest daughter’s wedding.

Pets & farm animals

Our two, much loved dogs, Clancy and Fuzz, are 2 and 9-year-old Tenterfield Terriers. They are funny, affectionate and very loyal/social with people they consider part of their pack. Being short-haired they don’t smell like other dogs can. This trait has helped them worm their way into our bed at night, although we suspect with visitors they would opt for their mats on the bedroom floor. They can be energetic early in the morning, then sleepy till late afternoon with a second but brief burst of energy before sunset (after which they’re good sleepers). Since they were attacked by a large, aggressive off-leash dog (especially Clancy), both dogs don’t mix well with other dogs. As our vet said, this breed works together very effectively, and they now sometimes get worked up when encountering other dogs at close range. They would appreciate a daily walk to burn off some energy. Sometimes we walk them separately for calmer walks!
Both dogs are on a daily dose of Gabapentin to take the edge off their anxiety. Dog parks and busy places now create emotional havoc for Clancy and Fuzz. Although we have a cool dog beach around the corner and the beach/swimming inlet in the other direction (both on-leash), we don’t walk our dogs there at peak times. These locations are nevertheless fabulous for human happy hour and picnics.
Clancy and Fuzz are fine with visitors but haven’t been exposed to toddlers and babies.
