About
About
We live in a double-storey house on the border of Toorak and Armadale in Melbourne, very close to a tram stop and within a short tram ride or a 15-20 min walk to a train station. High Street Armadale (cafes/restaurants/nice shops) is within easy walking distance and Hawksburn Village (cafes, nice shops, great fruit and veg shop and a supermarket) is within a longer (15-20 min) walk or short tram ride. Glenferrie Road Malvern (more shops, restaurants and a supermarket) is also within a 20 min walk.
The house has split system heating/cooling in the family room and bedrooms. The bedrooms are all up a flight of stairs. We have a front and back garden that are maintained by a gardener, and a swimming pool. There is off-street parking available in the driveway.
Pets & farm animals
We have a frail 19-year-old cat named Louis and a 12-year-old dog (King Charles Cavalier cross) named Archie. Louis is an indoor cat and uses litter trays that require cleaning out. He is very timid and prefers females. Archie the dog is very friendly and loves food and companionship. He is accustomed to having a walk every morning, having somebody around the house most of the time, and sleeping on the bed. Archie has some health issues which require medication. One of his medications is easy because it is given morning and night with food. The other is trickier because it must be given on an empty stomach which makes the timing a bit more difficult. For all these reasons our preferred sitter would be a single female who is retired or works from home, who is a bit of a home body (spends most of the time at home), and who is happy to work around Archie’s medication. We would also probably prefer somebody who does not bring too many other people into the home while they are here.
House Tasks
Tasks include feeding Archie and Louis early each morning and then again in the early evening, giving Archie his medications at the appropriate times, changing the cat litter trays, collecting the mail, putting the garbage out once a week, walking Archie every day and watering some indoor plants.
