We have a four bedroom Federation house on one acre In Glenorchy. It is easy to keep the house warm with a wood fire and heat pumps. The garden won’t need much attention in June/July, especially as this trip is quite short.
We are looking after our son's elderly dog and cat while he is working in Darwin - which is where we are heading. Poppy, the Blue Heeler cross, can't see or hear well and she is a bit fussy about meeting new people and some other dogs, but quickly endeared herself to all our previous housesitters. She has 3 medications to be taken with her evening meal.
Simon, the ginger cat, is a low maintenance loner who also quickly warmed to our housesitters.
Minimal maintenance otherwise needed - just someone to collect mail, feed the chooks (and pademelons in the bottom paddock) and be in and around the house.
