We moved to Australia five years ago (having had extended visits over the last 15 years) under the parent visa scheme as our grown up family had already moved to Sydney. We are now citizens.
We are reliable, honest, non-smoking and owned our own home (with large garden) in England (owned for 35 years) so are very capable of maintaining a good, clean standard of care and security when looking after your home and pet(s), as if our own. We previously owned our own pets over the years (dog/cat/rabbit) and understand how it feels to be away from your pets and property. Please see the references posted on happy house sitters.
We were originally housesitting around Sydney as we wanted to stay close to family with young children. However, we now reside in Sydney but want to Housesit different regions to explore and enjoy other areas of Australia,
We really enjoy the house sit experience, having a 'sense of routine and responsibility’ whilst exploring other regions. We have not Housesat for over two years due to family commitments (grandchildren) but now have more time to ourselves.
We will have plenty of time to attend to any pet care/house jobs in the mornings, but would probably be out during the middle of the days exploring the local areas but be back early evening for walks/feeds etc and be around during the evenings. We have our own car if needed for vet care etc.
We offer a professional service, would only bring minimum luggage with us and could easily vacate the property if required in an emergency, as we are flexible and can just return to our own residence or make alternative arrangements.
We are both active (run and bike) and are able to do any house jobs, basic maintenance, gardening and pet care. We can send texts/ pictures/updates if required whilst you are away.
Philip is a qualified electrical contractor/builder so can attend most maintenance issues if you wished in an emergency, should any arise.
I worked in University Administration for 20 years so have experience in confidentiality and security awareness.
