I have recently retired as a University Lecturer at Salford University, UK. I was formally an Officer in the Royal Air Force. I still have some contact with the RAF so have full security clearance. I have been to Perth WA on 4 previous occasions having contact with RAAF Pearce. I am coming to Australia at the beginning of October 2019 for 6 months. My sister lives in Sorrento and is a nursing sister at Seacrest Doctors Practice. On previous visits to WA I have undertaken 2 dog/house sits. One for a nursing friend of my sisters in Ocean Reef looking after 2 dogs. I am looking to find other house sits in WA. Also would like to spend time in Melbourne. I have owned dogs and look after my daughters two cats (British Blues) and dog (photo of her dog given) when she is away. I am single (widower). I like to keep myself fit going to the gym. A none smoker and do not drink. My interests are sport. I hold a Private Pilots Licence and enjoy tennis and sailing.

I have known John since we were students in Manchester over 40 years ago. He lectured at Salford University for a period and stayed at my address for part of the week. During this period he looked after my two retired greyhounds at my home whilst I was on holiday abroad. At that time it was difficult to kennel greyhounds given their perceived danger to other breeds of dog. Their dietary and exercise regime also complicated kennel routines. John looked after the dogs extremely well and I had no concerns about their welfare whilst on holiday leave.

John looked after our house for 3 weeks 18 months ago. John was great with the dogs and friends and neighbors mentioned they had seen him out lots of times with my dogs which was nice. He was very reliable and I even got email updates so I knew they were fine. I would happily recommend john to look after your home and dogs(s)! He even made a welcome home bolognese for us!

I have known John Thorpe for 29 years and have always found him to be completely trustworthy, honest and reliable. We met in the U.K. when we taught together at Manchester university. He is a mature aged, very active retiree who has always had his own animals and regularly looks after his two daughter's cat and dogs. Two years ago he looked after my house and dog and l would have no hesitation in recommending him for a pet or housesitting job.
