We are a retired professional couple in our early 70's living in our own house in Brisbane's western suburbs. (see the photo).
We are keen to house-sit in Melbourne as our son, a doctor at Western Hospital, his wife and our two grandchildren (aged 5 and 8) live in Glen Iris in Melbourne. We were starved of their company during the Covid lockdowns and are now keen to stay in Melbourne for longer periods of time to catch up. We have been vaccinated four times for covid and more recently for influenza.
As owners of a large house, we are familiar with what it takes to care for and maintain a house and swimming pool, so we will look after and respect your home for house sitting in the same way. We also both enjoy gardening and growing our own vegetables. We have had border collie dogs in the past as family pets while our children were growing up so are very aware of exercising dogs. We are non smokers and like exploring, cooking, reading, sailing or pursuing cultural activities. We have references and can provide an updated police check and would be very happy to talk on Face time or Skype to be interviewed and to get to know you.
In September/October 2018 we completed a 3 week sit for 3 rescue dogs in East Hawthorn, and another 2 week sit for an elderly cat in Ascot Vale. In December 2018 we completed a house sit in East St Kilda for a rescue American Staffordshire for 2 weeks.
In late December 2019, we house sat a new town house in Essendon for the same elderly cat for 4 days. In December-January 2021/22 we house sat in a 4 bedroom house over 10 days in Glen Iris for a golden retriever, elderly cat and gold fish.. Including Stayz and Airbnb accomodation, we have 13 references covering Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria and London.
