Hello! I am excited to be able to offer you my experience in caring for my homes and pets over the years! I was a pharmacist for 35 years, and yes....that means I am very detail oriented and like to keep a very clean, organized home! I am fit, work out at the gym, and keep active with hiking, cycling, walking, and kayaking whenever I can! I have also done some casual housecleaning work, which I enjoyed (!). I miss my Westie cross "Chester" and within family members in Winnipeg, there are 7 cats and 4 dogs---who are ALL so much fun!
Why I want to house sit---
Now that my 4 children are grown and on their own, and I have downsized tremendously, I am ready to travel the world to care for homes and pets and meet new people! ( Not to mention the privilege of being able to hug, walk, feed and care for many new animal friends!) I miss not having a dog at home and really enjoy interacting with the many cats in my life---including all their unique personalities! Having grown up with a father in the Airforce, and moving a LOT, I am very adaptable to new environments and love the adventure of discovering new places and people! I am looking for longer house sits. I am a very caring, compassionate, conscientious person who loves people and animals, and I am hoping to use those skills in taking loving care of homes and pets so people can travel, knowing that their home and pets are in trustworthy, experienced hands!
My experience---
I have owned many homes over the years, while raising my children, with our dog, cat and rabbit(s)! As a single parent/homeowner, I have learned how to maintain a house well, and also to troubleshoot and know when to call for assistance! I have also earned money from housecleaning--so your house while be extra clean when you return home! I have done house sitting for my son and looked after his cat Sterling and his German Shepherd/Husky Cross- Elliott. I also have experience pet sitting cats through "Trusted House Sitters" and have 5 star references, as well as a criminal record check on that site. My own experience looking after dogs and cats within my own home comes in extremely handy. And surprisingly, as a pharmacist, I have had experience in dealing with customers and their pets regarding illnesses and medications as well! I am confident in being able to handle any health concerns with pets, as well as knowing when to call or go to the vet.
