House sittingHello everyone,we live on a 3 acre property in a small rural village (34people, 1 pub, 6 tennis courts and one telstra phone box) called coolatai. Our property has acted as a community venue of types for several years now and thus it has been carved and built out of all sorts of recycled reclaimed materials. It is quite charming. There is an outdoor kitchen, stage, classroom, toilet/shower/bath and the remains of an opshop in our horse stable.We have 2 llamas, 3 sheep, 10 chickens, 4 ducks a dog and a cat. they all free range and are really minimal effort. Food and water and birds away in the evenings. We are also surrounded by beautiful native birds of every description. Coolatai is unique because it sits in the centre of 5 different bio-regions - meaning we have a very astounding amount of life around usThe universe above our head is remarkable and the pub near by offers milk, a romantic (lol) dinner out, and a cold drink if required. Our nearest town for food and fuel is Warialda (40ks) and Inverell & Moree (about 100ks an hour and a bit away). The surrounding area is beautiful - and i will leave you a map to some stunning perfect waterholes near by us. The house is comfortable. Aircon - bedrooms - there are a 1000films to view but no tv options. Lots of books. i am an artist so the house is eclectic and full of my paintings - its a great place to be inspired to paint write sing think. We also have an outdoor cinema smile firepit and popcorn machine.If you are interested in a rural setting for a few weeks to explore a dynamic outback area (lightning ridge is 4 hours from here and an amazing place to visit for a night) in a really unique space then this could be the job for you.This is a house-sit over xmas time so if you are looking for something different this year, or somewhere to rest your caravan for a week or so over the break then this could be perfect for you. Im happy to get in some xmas supplies for you ( a bottle of brandy, a xmas pudding, a tree) if you would like some xmas spirit around = otherwise the pub will have a xmas bash on no doubt and the waterholes will be most lovely.Happy to send pics if requested. youll be charmed,big lovkelps-its very dry here at the moment so the lovely lush green of the pics is a little dustier but who knows by xmas :)
Pets & farm animals
Simply locking them up at night and letting them out in the morning. Feeding and water. Its fun sitting with them all in the afternoons. Our dog is active and loves company and is beautiful sweet and you will fall in love. Our cat is 15 and timid and sweet. They both sleep inside.
