We're looking for an active, non-smoking person or couple to care for our 7- year old border collie in our modern, semi-detached house with small, low maintenance, enclosed backyard. The house is on a quiet street a 5-min walk from Northcote High Street shops, cafes and restaurants, a stone's throw from lovely parks and green spaces and about 8km from the CBD with trams and train a short stroll away. Our rescue dog is people-focused and affectionate, but sadly nervous around other animals, particularly other dogs. She is accustomed to someone being around particularly in the day (alone no longer than 5-6 hours in a stretch) and her nature/breed demands a sitter who can provide her with plenty of physical and mental stimulation. If this sounds like a good match, drop me a line.Ideally, we'd like to develop a relationship with someone who would eventually come for stays of a month or more during the winter.
Pets & farm animals
Walk our dog minimum twice daily. Play fetch, give her jobs or get her to do tricks for treats to keep her mind engaged, and give her lots of cuddles. She loves raw veggie bits, but she also enjoys her raw bones for dinner. Though we'd make sure she has plenty of portioned bones during the time we're away, you'd need to be okay with feeding these to her. Please send us heaps of photos of her!
