Looking for a pet-sitter over Christmas for my darling old cat! We are flying to the US on Christmas Eve so hoping to find someone who can come that day, but would also be open to someone arriving on the 27th if necessary.

My partner and I live in a three-level townhouse, with plenty of space to spread out. There's a cute courtyard and a comfy guest room with a double bed for you to stay in. I also have some houseplants that may need to be watered once or twice.

We're in between Newmarket and South Kensington stations (15 mins or so walk from either) and a short walk from either Kensington main street with cute shops, bars and cafes or Flemington/Newmarket, where there's a bigger supermarket and the best laksa in Melbourne!

Ideally looking for a solo female housesitter, or a couple with experience with difficult cats. Tisbe is delightful but tends to get extra hissy with men.

Pets & farm animals

Tisbe is a snuggly elderly cat, but can take a little time getting used to new people. She has medication that is very easy to pop on top of her food. Aside from someone to take care of food and water and scoop her litter, she most importantly needs a lap to perch on! She can get defensive at times but if you just ignore her she'll come around! She's a lap cat once she gets to know you.

House Tasks

It would be great if you could keep an eye on the mail (sometimes we forget about packages and they arrive when we're not home, sorry!)

I usually water all the pot plants on Sundays, sometimes more often if it's hot, so would love someone who's happy taking care of plants as well.
