Hello House Sitters,
Our names are Pete and Dawn.
We're are preferably looking for a couple to look after our home, gardens, two medium sized, very friendly dogs and some goldfish. Although, a very capable single person would be great too.
Our dogs live in the house with us but can come in and go outside themselves so are quite independent although they do love company. They are happy to be left alone when we go out, but not for hours on end. They are used to being walked 5+ kms a day. But, the route we take is an easy walk and the dogs walk well, easily controllable and obedient. If you agree to sit for us, of course we will show you where we go and what we do during our walks.
Although we live in a small country town, we have a normal sized house block. The house is 3 bedrooms with open planed living/kitchen. Our heating is predominately wood fire, coonara style. But there is facility for instant warmth until the fire gets going. We generally keep the fire ticking over throughout the day and night so the house stays cosy.
The gardens are easy to maintain, just watering and possibly one mow, whipper-snot, blow and some leaves to be swept/blown from around the verandas.
We have plenty of parking for a caravan or motor home which can be undercover for a small pop-top if needed. Other wise, our drive is big enough for large vans and has gates. Your car can be garaged too.
Pete has a workshop at the back of the garage that can be utilised if you'd like to do some maintenance or repairs to your van/motor home.
Our town is small town with only 1100 or so people. The community is very friendly and will always give a helping hand if you need. The Main Street have a very famous bakery renound for its award winning pies and hot cross buns. There is also a post office, 2 hairdressers, one of which does Beauty and spa treatments too. There is an IGA, boutique style country clothings shop and the best little pub in Australia. The owners and patrons are very friendly, and it has a great bistro for country pub grub! Raffles on Wednesday at 6pm and Friday at 7pm.
As you can probably see, we love our great little town and we're sure you'll be very happy and welcomed here too.
We have a large circle of friends who would be more than willing to give a helping hand or advice.
There is lots more we can talk about but we'll do that when contact is established.
